Rise Up SMEs, Governor Bali Wayan Koster Asks Three Local Financial Institutions to Synergize

Bali Governor Wayan Koster asked the Bali Regional Development Bank (BPD) to synergize with other local financial institutions in Bali, such as BPR and LPD. The synergy of the three aims to generate Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which in turn will help boost the growth of the Balinese economy.
This was conveyed by Governor Koster when giving a speech at the signing of the Apex Cooperation Agreement between Bank BPD Bali with Perbarindo and BPR at the Grand Inna Bali Beach Hotel, Denpasar, Tuesday (October 8, 2019).
Governor Koster called the three of them the strength of local financial institutions in Bali. He then detailed that the number of rural credit banks operating in Bali reached 134 BPRs. In addition, LPD as a financial service institution with local character has customary villages, which number around 1300 out of 1493 custom villages. Furthermore, it is supported by BPD Bali, as a banking institution owned by local governments in Bali.
"So the three strengths of Bali's financial institutions, namely BPD, LPD and BPR, must indeed work together to collaborate in encouraging and supporting economic development in the Province of Bali," Koster said.
The governor from Sembiran Village said that he was very interested in these three financial institutions so that he could grow into a strong and healthy institution by implementing principles in accordance with the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali.
In achieving this vision, Governor Koster has designed various programs and policies that will generate small and medium businesses. The Chairman of the DPD PDIP Bali Province said that he had designed the industry in the upstream to the downstream markets related to the priority programs for food, clothing, shelter.
"Small and medium business industries will develop and their cooperatives will certainly require capital that must partner with BPR and LPD and BPD," he said.
Director of BPD Bali, I Nyoman Sudharma said, in accordance with the vision of the Governor of Bali, namely Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali, it is important to have collaboration between business actors including in the financial services sector.
He added that with competition in the industrial era 4.0, the synergy between financial services in Bali must be strengthened. According to him, the signing of the Apex BPR collaboration will synergize financial institutions in Bali, especially between BPD Bali and BPR in Bali.
